"Peintre-graveur (French pronunciation: [pɛ̃tʁ(ə) ɡʁavœʁ]) is a term probably invented and certainly popularized by the great scholar of the old master print, Adam Bartsch (Johann Adam Bernhard von Bartsch: 1757 - 1821, both Vienna).
