order of salesians

The Salesians are a Catholic monastic community founded by St John Bosco, an Italian priest, in 1859, in the 19th century. Their official name is "Salesians", and the name is derived from the name of St John Bosco, the founder of the Order (Society of St Francis of Salesians).

The main mission of the Salesians is to educate and train young people, especially the poor and disadvantaged. St John Bosco dedicated his life to youth and sought to help them build their lives around religious and moral values.
