"Frau Holle" is the 24th story in the first volume of the book published in 1812 as part of Children´s and Household Tales. Furthermore, the eponymous Frau Holle is an important legendary creature from Germany in her own right. As such, Frau Holle (or "Frau Holda" /ˌfraʊ ˈhoʊldə/) was the protectress of agriculture and women´s crafts.
