"Russian Aircraft Corporation "MiG" (Russian: Российская самолетостроительная корпорация „МиГ“, romanized: Rossiyskaya samoletostroitel´naya korporatsiya "MiG") is a Soviet, and later a Russian aerospace joint stock company. Its head office is in Begovoy District, Northern Administrative Okrug, Moscow. The name "MiG" is formed as a conjunction of the names of its two founding designers, Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich.
MiG aircraft are a staple of the Soviet and Russian Air Forces, and the Soviet Union sold many of these aircraft within its sphere of influence.
