"Ptolemy XII Neos Dionysos Philopator Philadelphos (Ancient Greek: Πτολεμαῖος Νέος Διόνυσος Φιλοπάτωρ Φιλάδελφος, Ptolemaios Néos Diónysos Philopátōr Philádelphos "Ptolemy New Dionysus, Father-lover, Sibling-lover"; c. 117 BC – before 22 March 51 BC) was a king of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Ancient Egypt. He was commonly known as Auletes (Ancient Greek: Αὐλητής, Aulētḗs "the Flautist"), referring to the king´s love of playing the flute in Dionysian festivals.
