Telequipment (aka "TQ" in Tek-Internal abbreviation) was a British oscilloscope manufacturer founded in 1952 that was acquired by Tektronix in November of 1966, at which time it had about 300 employees. It was run as a subsidiary to provide lower-cost alternatives to Tektronix' main product lines.
At the time, Tektronix made almost exclusively laboratory-grade industrial models, whereas Telequipment produced scopes designed primarily for the TV service market. As a consequence, TQ models had TV vertical and horizontal trigger settings, a feature only introduced in Tek products in the T900-series scope
