"Abu al-‘Abbās ‘Abdu'llāh ibn Muhammad al-Saffāḥ (Arabic: أبو العباس عبد الله بن محمد السفّاح; 721/722 – 10 June 754) usually known as Abul ‘Abbas as-Saffaḥ or simply as As-Saffah was the first caliph of the Abbasid Caliphate, one of the longest and most important caliphates (Islamic dynasties) in Islamic history.
