Benham & Froud

Benham & Froud coppersmith and general metal workers. c1855-1924.
In 1785 John Kepp set up as a coppersmith and brazier in Chandos Street, London. They adopted the mark of the orb because they had made the cross on the dome of St Pauls Cathedral in 1821. 'John Kepps and co' were taken over in 1855 by Herbert Augustus Benham, Joseph Froud and four others, becoming known as Benham & Froud. Dr Christopher Dresser designed for Benham and Froud.
