Robert Smith (1959-)

"Robert James Smith (born 21 April 1959) is an English singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He is the only continuous member of the rock band The Cure, which he co-founded in 1976. He was also the lead guitarist for the band Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1982 to 1984, and was part of the short-lived group The Glove in 1983.

Smith was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, to a musical family, before relocating to Horley, Surrey, at age three, and then Crawley, West Sussex at age six. After being expelled from St Wilfrid's Catholic School in 1977 for allegedly causing a riot during a gig with Malice, and returning shortly afterwards, Smith reformed his band into Easy Cure, soon shortened to simply The Cure." - (en.wikipedia.org 02.01.2021)
