Das Aquarell zeigt ein blaues Seepferd nach links schwimmend. Es wurde nach einer pompejanischen Wandmalerei während der Grabungskampagnen 1878-1881 aufgenommen. Solche Seepferdchen waren vor allem im 4. Stil ein beliebtes Dekorationselement. Ein ähnliches Seepferdchen befinden sich z.B. in der oberen Sockelzone im Ixion-Zimmer im Haus der Vettier in Pompeji. Emil Presuhn hat das Aquarell in seiner Sammlung nicht in seinen Publikationen veröffentlicht. (Stephanie-Gerrit Bruer)
