Description

The VC1541C, from Commodore, is a single floppy drive that can be connected to a Commodore home computer, such as the C64, via the serial bus. There is a read and write head for the diskettes.
Data is transferred from the VC1541C at a speed of 400 byte/s, but this can be accelerated using a fast charger.
The VC1541C is equipped with the 6502 microprocessor, which has a tick rate of 1MHz. It also has two 6522 as I/O and timer. The VC1541C is equipped with four 2114 RAMs for a storage capacity of 2KByte RAM.
Compatible floppy disks for the VC1541C have a memory of 174,848 bytes, which is approximately 175 Kbytes, but you can flip them over using a disk punch and write on both sides for twice the storage capacity.
In comparison to the VC1541, the VC1541C has an integrated power supply, which means that you have to connect it with a power plug. The power consumption is only 25W.
The serial number of this VC1541C is 4145427.
