Corinth was a leader in the production of ceramics between 750 and 550 BC. These were exported through trade to all areas of the ancient world. Among the export hits were the round aryballoi. They are among the most frequently produced forms from the workshops of Corinth, such as this ointment vessel with the wide undercut, slightly forward-slanting mouth plate. (AVS)
