Salomon Gessner (* 1. April 1730 in Zürich; † 2. März 1788 ebenda) war ein Schweizer Idyllendichter, Maler und Grafiker. Zu Ehren des Dichters erbauten die vom Theater faszinierten Grafen zu Leiningen im Isenachtal einen Gessner-Tempel. Von diesem Tempel haben sich keine Abbildungen erhalten.
