Das Fleckfieber ist eine schwere Infektionskrankheit, die durch Läuse übertragen wird. Unbehandelt kann sie tödlich verlaufen. Fleckfieber war im Zweiten Weltkrieg sehr verbreitet und trat vor allem unter Frontbedingungen gehäuft auf. Das von der Heeressanitätsinspektion herausgegebene Merkblatt sollte Soldaten über Krankheitssymptome und Maßnahmen zur Ansteckungsvermeidung aufklären.
