Versteinertes Stück schwarzer Ölschiefer mit dem Stamm eines Sigillaria-Baumes. Die Stämme der 20–30 m hohen Bäume verzweigten sich nur 2–3mal oder blieben unverzweigt (Schopfbaum-Wuchsform) und trugen die langen bandförmigen Blätter (1 Leitbündel mit 2 Xylemsträngen) schopfig am Ende.
