Ein Holzklotz ist mit einem Lederriemen beweglich an einer Rute befestigt. Mit der Rute wird der Holzklotz auf die auf dem harten Boden liegenden Ähren geschlagen. So wurden die Körner aus den Ähren geschlagen.
