Description

Ein Treffen fand 1955 und am 24. bis 16. Mai 1963 in Guntersblum stand.

Das Infanterie Regiment entstand kurz nach dem Einmarsch 1939 in Polen aus der Brigade Eberhardt, einer Einheit der Landespolizei der Freien Stadt Danzig. Von September 1939 bis Mai 1940 war es in Guntersblum stationiert, danach von Mai bis August 1940 in Frankreich im Einsatz. Im Sommer 1940 wurde das Regiment motorisiert. Nach Beendigung des zweiten Weltkriegs, konnten die Soldaten nicht mehr nach Danzig zurückkehren. Einige fanden in Guntersblum eine neue Heimat, darunter Herbert Bechler, Max Doligkeit, Siegfried Gaedtke, Walter Maruhn und Heinz Thiele.
