Die 86 Kärtchen sind datiert vom Juni 1816 bis Oktober 1817. Sie stammen aus der Lohgerbertruhe von Altmeister Ratzel aus Brandenburg (Havel). Auf jeder Karte ist „Alt Meister Ratzel Brandenburg“ und jeweils ein anderer Tag mit Feder vermerkt. Bisweilen war Ratzel in Begleitung von Gesellen. Das beiliegende Schreiben mit dem Prägedruck „Gebrüder Spitta Brandenburg A.H.“ vom 20. Mai 1862 bestätigt den Betriebseintritt von Lohgerbergeselle Zeiger.
