The belt tip was included as a decoration in the composition of the metal parts of the belt set. It was found together with accompanying burial goods in the grave of a horseman during the excavation of the mound.
Belt sets with suspended straps and pads in the form of rosettes, together with heraldic plates, were considered by researchers to be the invention of the nomads of Asia, despite the fact that their prototypes were not found among Asian antiquities. In Eastern Europe the earliest heraldic belts were found in the complexes of the second half of the 6th century in the border possessions of the Byzantine Empire among the nomads of the Northern Black Sea region, the Northern Caucasus and the Gothic federations in the Crimea.
