Es war Teil eines mobilen Radiosenders "ZC1 Mk 2 HF Radio " das im zweiten Weltkrieg an der Front eingesetzt wurde. Bis in die 1970er Jahre wurde es auch bei der amerikanischen Polizei im Streifenwagen und der Zentrale eingesetzt.
