Eine Frucht- oder Obstsaftpresse wird auch als Kelter bezeichnet. Mit Hilfe diesere Mostpresse wurde aus dem zuvor zerkleinerten Obst der Fruchtsaft herausgepresst. Aus diesem Fruchtsaft wurde auch Wein hergestellt. Das zerkleinerte Obst wurde in den eckigen Behälter gefüllt und darauf der Deckel gelegt. Die an den Behälter angebrachte Gewindespindel wurde mittels Muskelkraft nach unten gedreht. Dadurch wurde das Obst zusammengepresst und der Saft trat aus. Diese konnten nun in entsprechenden Behältern aufgefangen werden.
