Der Holzschnitt gehört zum Mappenwerk "Ein Dorf" und zeigt vier Häuser mit Schleppdächern entlang der Dorfstraße. Am vorderen Bildrand sitzt mittig und dem Betrachter zugewandt eine Figur. Die Motive der Mappe zeigen vermutlich Buchholz am Ratzeburger See, wo Max Pechstein sich vom 16. Mai bis 1. Juni 1919 bei dem Maler Hermann Münchhausen aufhält.
