Nach den beschwerlichen Jahren des Wiederaufbaus der Stadt widmete sich Töpfermeister Fritz Natusch zusammen mit Horst Senftleben den verbliebenen heimatkundlichen Werten, und so wurde im Jahr 1961 das Heimatmuseum wieder eröffnet.
