This is a black-figure goblet with the image of komasts from one of the burials of the Olbia necropolis. Four figures of dancing komasts and black spots with an incised spiral ornament decorate the surface of the goblet. Black lacquer covers the inside surface, which has a painted image of four leaves (two on each side), a three-petalled flower, four concentric circles, and a concentric circle on the bottom with two crossed white stripes inscribed.
In ancient Greece, komasts are participants in the ritual procession of komos. This action had musical accompaniment of flutes and kitharas. Such images characterize ancient Greece vase painting, especially vessels for drinking wine.
