This is a sword with an elongated triangular blade, a narrow cross, and a figured pommel decorated in the Scythian animal style. The pommel has the appearance of curved stylized claws of a bird of prey with the image of a round eye at the base. That are symbols of the strength and accuracy of the blow. The Scythians believed that the sword was not only a weapon, but also the embodiment of the god of war. The Scythians performed sacrifices to him.
This sample of Scythian weapons was accidentally found in the Irpin river near the village of Bilogorodky in the Kyiv region.
