Diese um 1420-30 entstandene Plastik stammt aus dem St. Spiritushospital in Schönebeck. Sie ist im "späten Peter Parler Stil" ausgeführt und wurde vermutlich in einer Magdeburger Werkstatt gefertigt. Peter Parler entstammte einer Baumeisterfamilie des 14. Jahrhunderts, die Stil bestimmend für die Entwicklung der spätgotischen Baukunst und Plastik in Deutschland wirkte. "Pietà" ist die italienische Bezeichnung für das Vesperbild mit der heiligen Maria, die den Leichnam Christi im Schoß hält. Maria ist mit Kopftuch und faltigem Gewand dargestellt. Der Kopf des Christus ist beschädigt.
