Sir: -
I have learned through sundry notices in the daily press
that you are the discoverer of the light which it is alleged will
penetrate many substances usually regarded as opaque. I write to
you for this reason. I am interested in certain arts, in which
such a light would be of use; an if the matter is in such a po-
sition as to be readily utilized, I should be glad of such par-
ticulars as you may feel disposed to communicate.
What I should like to know is, whether the light is port-
able, and what its cost is; what apparatus is necessary and what
conditions are needful to its successful operation?
It is hardly necessary to say that I do not seek for the
discovery of any secret or that I have any expectation of dealing
with you in any other way than upon a proper basis commercial or
otherwise. Kindly address me at Stamford, Connecticut, United
