Brahe wurde durch seine 1572 gemachte Beobachtung einer im Sternbild Kassiopeia erschienenen galaktischen Supernova in ganz Europa bekannt. Unter dem Motiv ist die Signatur der Druckerei zu sehen: Gedr. bei J. Rauh.
