Abraham Willemer (1794-1819) war der Stiefsohn der Marianne Willemer, Goethes "Suleica". Er fiel 1819 im Duell.
Das vorliegende Porträt gelangte erst im 20. Jahrhundert in die Sammlung des Gleimhauses.
