Der Künstler des Kupferstiches wird mit dem Kürzel Z. bezeichnet.
Im Vordergrund auf einem Feldweg vor einem Wachturm steht eine Gruppe von Soldaten mit Säbeln. Von Links kommen auf sie zu Handwerker und Bauern mit Waren zum Verkauf. Im Hintergrund sieht man gepflügte Felder und Laubbäume. Unterhalb des Stiches ist handschriftlich ein Text hinzugefügt: DIE TURM-WACHE BEI GÖTTINGEN AM 28. JUL. 1790.
