Description

Hinterglasbild im originalen Rahmen. Jesus als Schmerzenskind mit den Leidenswerkzeugen (Arma Christi) ist ein Bildmotiv, das mit der Gegenreformation Verbreitung fand. Das Vorbild, an dem sich der Maler orientiert hat, ist hier verballhort, denn eigentlich sollte das Kind auf dem Kreuz schlafen.
Die Bilderfindung geht auf Francesco Albani (1687-1745) zurück, dessen Komposition durch einen Stich ("Ego dormio et cor meum vigilat") überliefert ist.
