Description

Bildnis des Gaspard III de Coligny, genannt Marechal de Chatillon (1584-1646), Graf und später Herzog von Coligny, Marquis d’Andelot, Pair von Frankreich und seit 1622 Marschall von Frankreich als Brustbild nach links. Er trägt dunkles volles Haar, Schnurr- und Kinnbart, einen dunklen Küraß, darüber einen weißem Spitzenkragen und eine rötliche Schärpe über der rechten Schulter. Das Bild galt ursprünglich als Bildnis seines gleichnamigen Großvaters, des Hugenottenführers Gaspard II de Coligny (1519-1572). (KSDW)
