Description

Die Radierung "Schloß Falkenstein am Harz" entstand um 1840. Die mittelalterliche Burganlage ist ausgestattet mit drei Vorburgen, Tor- und Zwingeranlagen und einem über 30m hohen Bergfried, der die typische Bauweise des 12. Jahrhunderts repräsentiert. Neben repräsentativen Funktionen, wurde der Bergfried ebenfalls als erhöhte Wehrplattform und als Warte benutzt.
