Description

Das Mangbrett (1) mit Rollholz (2) kann als Vorläufer der Kaltmangel bezeichnet werden. Wie später bei der Schiebemangel wurde auch hier die Wäsche um das Mangholz gewickelt und dann mit dem Mangbrett mittels Muskelkraft hin und hergerollt. Obwohl es längst effektivere Methoden gab, war diese Art des Wäscheglättens bis weit in das 20. Jahrhundert gebräuchlich.
