Description

Auf einer Treppe kniet rechts Louis de la Vergne de Tressan, Erzbischof von Rouen, die Hand an der Brust. Links auf dem Treppenpodest schwebt über einem prächtigen Kissen die Madonna mit dem Jesuskind und zwei Putten in einer Wolke, sie wendet sich zum Bischof. Quer über den Stufen liegen der Bischofsstab und ein Kreuz. Im Hintergrund rechts ist die Kathedrale von Rouen zu erkennen.
