Diese Münze wurde nach Angabe von Prof. Kleemann in Sinzig gefunden.

Der Denar (lateinisch denarius, von deni: je zehn) war ein antikes, mittelalterliches und neuzeitliches Münznominal, anfänglich feinsilbern und von mittlerem Wert, durch inflationäre Prozesse immer geringwertiger werdend und schließlich kupfern. Er galt ursprünglich als „Zehnfaches“ eines Ganzen, nämlich als Zehnfaches der römischen Gewichts- und Geldeinheit, des Bronze-As.
