Um welche Person mit Allongeperrücke es sich auf diesem Porträt handelt, ist bisher nicht bekannt. Die Bezeichnungen reichen von "Männliches Porträt mit Allongeperücke" über "Ein Zittauer Kaufmann" bis zu "Baron von Sylvester".
Sicher ist, dass dieses Ölgemälde aus dem Nachlass des Malers Johann Eleazar Zeissig, genannt Schenau, stammt, jedoch nicht von ihm gemalt ist.
