Description

Der Lehrer Fritz Lohmann, geboren 1878 in Rischenau im Fürstentum Lippe, wurde im Ersten Weltkrieg an der Westfront in Frankreich eingesetzt. In einer Reihe von Zeichnungen hielt er den Alltag eines Soldaten an der Front fest und verarbeitete seine Kriegserlebnisse.
Im Vordergrund rechts liegt ein Totenschädel. Dahinter zieht sich ein Holzsteg durch die zerstörte Landschaft, neben einem angedeuteten Sprengtrichter her. Holzsparren und Stacheldrahtstücke ragen im Hintergrund in die Luft. Signatur "F.L. 1918"
