"Sonntag, d. 15.Juli 1917./ L. Selma u. Kinder!/ Bin eben ein paar Stunden/ mit Joseph zusammen, glaubte/ nur 1 Std. von ihm liegen/ machte mich daher gestern Abend/ auf den Weg hierher, dabei/ warn es aber circa 3 Std./ Es geht uns beiden noch gut/ u. sende dir herzl. Grüße/ dein Ernst./ Liebe Selma u. Kinder!/ Wie du siehst, finden sich/ gleiche (Kappen) auch draußen/ im Felde zusammen. Habe/ mich rießig gefreut, auf einmal/ Ernst vor mir zu sehen./ Herzliche Grüße Joseph."
