- Assistenzarzt, später Oberarzt am Stadtkrankenhaus Dresden-Friedrichstadt
- seit 1881 Vorstand der städtischen Kinderklinik Dresden
- auch städtischer Armenarzt, Vorsitzender des ärztlichen Bezirksvereins, Mitglied des sächsischen Landesmedizinalkollegiums
- Verdienste um die Etablierung der Pädiatrie als Fachdisziplin, Förderung der medizinischen Versorgung bedürftiger Kinder
