Am 23.07.1939 besucht der Prignitzer Dorfpfarrer Karl Groß auf seiner Balkanreise die der Hafenstadt Split vorgelagerte Insel Čiovo. Zur Mittagszeit, in strahlender Sonne, fotografierte Groß den Eselreiter in der schmalen Gasse einer Ortschaft der kroatischen Adriainsel.
