Idyllischer Winkel aus Alt-Speyer: Fay malte die Ecke Holzmarkt-Schmiedgasse mit dem Läutturm im Hintergrund und dem Haus Nr. 8 am Holzmarkt als Mittelpunkt. Dieses Haus ist besonders auffallend wegen seines hohen Kellergeschosses und der dadurch bedingten Freitreppe zum Wohngeschoß. Die Idylle beleben eine Gruppe von drei Schulkindern und Passanten. Warme tonige Farben mit blauvioletten Konturen. Auf der Rückseite Vermerke zum Bild und ein Zeitungsfoto vor dem Abbruch des Hauses.
