Dargestellt ist ein nach links gedrehter Mann in einem dunklen Gewand mit Beffchen. Den rechten Arm hat er vor dem Körper angewinkelt und hält in der Hand ein kleines Buch. Dem Betrachter blickt er freundlich entgegen. Der Mann hat schulterlanges, welliges Haar, auf dem eine schwarze Kappe sitzt. Umrahmt wird das Porträt von einem beschrifteten Oval (s.o.). Darunter findet sich ein Schriftzug (s.o.).
