Description

Original-Konzertplakat "God save the Queen" der britischen Punkband Sex Pistols. Es wurde von der Plattenfirma Virgin Records produziert und vom Künstler Jamie Reid, der zahlreiche der kontroversen Cover der Band kreierte, entworfen.

Das Plakat stammt aus dem Jahr 1977 und sein Motiv wurde für jenes Album entworfen, das als das "am heftigsten zensierte in der britischen Geschichte" für Schlagzeilen sorgte: "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols".

Das Motiv ist ein schwarz-weiß Bild der englischen Queen Elizabeth II. vor dem Union Jack, der Flagge des Vereinigten Königreich Großbritanniens. Mund und Augen sind verdeckt von den Schriftzügen "God save the Queen" und "Sex Pistols". Dieses Motiv gilt als einprägendstes Bild der Punk-Ära.

Das Exponat ist eine Leihgabe der L'Unique Foundation.
