Description

Das Thema des Hirten ist bereits in der heidnischen Bildsprache geläufig. In der frühchristlichen Kunst wird der Schafträger zum Symbol für Christus. Der "Gute Hirt" (Psalm 23) drückt die Hoffnung auf ein friedvolles und glückliches Dasein im Jenseits aus.
