Description

Francesco Piranesi bildet in seiner Radierung von 1786 die 1736 in der Villa Hadriana gefundene Statue des sog. Roten Fauns nach einer Zeichnung von Tomasso Piroli ab. Seine Bezeichnung trägt das heute in den Kapitolinischen Museen befindliche Werk nach dem Buntmarmor (Rosso Antico), aus dem es geschaffen wurde.>
