Description

Warrior basket used in headhunting rituals

The basket is carried by men only and used in headhunting rituals. The two painted wooden heads symbolise headhunting. The buffalo horn attached to the basket is decorated with a tuft of goat hair and one of the wooden heads is wearing earrings made of goat hair. The basket is woven from bamboo and decorated with plant fibres. It is carried with a woven cotton strap.
