Der Mehrpassbogen am oberen Rand ist charakteristisch für Malereien aus Rajasthan; Bild soll aus Nagaur stammen, wurde in Ramgarh oder Jodhpur erworben.

Hinterglasmalerei in Deutschland

Der Hinterglasmaler Rambold (1872-1953) hat den Künstlern des Blauen Reiters die Hinterglasmalerei gelehrt.
Auf seiner Staffelei stand ein Hinterglasbild mit einem indischen Motiv. Davon existiert nur noch ein Foto. Es ist unklar, ob er es selbst gemalt oder irgendwo erworben hat.
