Description

The decoratively engraved hairpin is made of bone. These hairpins are worn by men from Banpara and the surrounding area, which today belongs to the state of Assam. Collector: Samuel E. PealToday, the inhabitants refer to themselves themselves as Konyak Naga, Wancho or Nocte, and they are all closely related. However, the Wancho and Nocte no longer define themselves as Naga.
