Description

Ceremonial basket of a Joboka or Sangloi chief. These are place names that were also used for the ethnic groups living there. Today, the groups in this region of Assam are called Nocte, Wancho or Konyak Naga. The woven plant fibre basket has a woven strap and is decorated with Job's tears and dyed goat hair.
